About Rotary Club of Bhuj

CLUB HISTORY

Rotary Club of Bhuj was established on 19 May 1943. It was started by the then District Governor Dr S Mukerjee. The sponsoring club was Rotary Club of Baroda. All initial members and office bearers were Administrators of the erstwhile Kingdom of Kutch. First 2 President’s serve as Diwan of Kutch while DG S Mukerjee was also Diwan of Kutch. Many members initially were from all over the Kutch. Members would attend meeting from Bhachau, Anjar, Mandvi and Naliya. Right from the beginning stars from the professionals and doyen businessmen were attracted to Rotary Club of Bhuj.

 

From seeding to establish Law College in Bhuj 1968, to serving the people of Kutch during the Earthquakes of 1959 and 2001, and to currently managing Hill Garden, Rotary English School, and anchoring it’s headquarters at Rotary Hall in Bhuj; the glorious journey of 78 years continues.
