Rotary Hill Garden

After the destructive earthquake of 2001, Kutch had risen again with the help of Government of India, Government of Gujarat, NGOs based in India and abroad.

But it was most important to fill some positivity in people. Hence, it was decided by the Bhuj Area Development Authority (BHADA) to develop a garden to provide entertainment to families and especially kids. 22 acres of prime land was allocated by BHADA on brand road which is today known as Airport Ring Road.

The main initiator of the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model was the then Chief Minister of Gujarat and currently the Honourable Prime Minister of India – Shri Narendra Modi. Under his instruction and guidance, this famous Hill Garden was conceptualised.Rotary Club of Bhuj rose to the occasion and accepted to manage Hill Garden under PPP model.

Hill Garden has many amusement rides for kids, along with a lake designed especially for boating. Beautifully landscaped areas were also developed within Hill Garden to facilitate elders and people of all ages in having a relaxing time. A fully operational canteen is also operational. Hill Garden also became a place of interest and got visits from students of various schools from across Gujarat State. Since 2004, Hill Garden is being managed by Rotary Charitable Society which is part of Rotary Club of Bhuj. Every year around 1,00,000 school children and 80,000 adults visit Hill Garden.
